Residential Construction Apprentice Program (RCAP) Graduation Celebrates Future of Skilled Trades
Fort Smith, AR – May 12, 2025 – The Greater Fort Smith Association of Home Builders is proud to announce the graduation of six dedicated students from the Residential Construction Apprentice Program (RCAP). This two-year program equips participants with hands-on experience, industry training, and essential skills to enter the workforce in residential construction and skilled trades.
The graduation ceremony will take place at Peak Innovation Center on May 13, 2025, at 5:30pm, and is open to family, friends, industry partners, and community supporters. A celebratory dinner, sponsored by Art’s BBQ, will follow the ceremony.
“Our graduates have worked hard to gain real-world construction experience and are now ready to take the next step in their careers,” said DeAnne Hankins, Executive Officer of the Greater Fort Smith HBA. “This program is a vital investment in our community’s workforce, and we’re proud of what these students have accomplished.”
RCAP is designed to support students in learning key trades such as framing, roofing, flooring, painting, carpentry work, and more—while also providing mentorship from licensed professionals and job site exposure. The program plays a crucial role in addressing the skilled labor shortage by preparing students for high-demand careers in construction.
Special thanks go to Armstrong Bank for sponsoring the graduation, and to all the industry professionals, educators, and employers who contributed to the success of the RCAP program and its students. Thank you, Cobblestone Homes, CMC Asset Mgmt., Lumber One, Elite Roofing, MGC Development, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Weather Barr Windows & Doors, Servpro, Peak Innovation Center & Adult Education.
